We love going to Storytime at the Library. We first went when Jack was about seven months old. At the time I wasn't sure if he was too young, but there were actually a lot of other babies there. Now that Jack wants to walk around all the time, I remember how easy it was taking him when he just sat on my lap and listened. Storytime is a half hour long. Besides stories, there are songs, dancing, puppets, and some other educational activities. The librarians do an amazing job at keeping all of the children (infants to five years old) interested. Jack loves books and whenever he hears music he starts to dance, which I think is partly because of all the singing and dancing that we do at Storytime. Here's the schedule for the Highlands Ranch Library: Storytime.

My kids always loved story time at the library, too!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed library time as a kid. I was sort of waiting until my baby was a year, but after reading about your experience I'm wondering "What was I waiting for!"
ReplyDeleteI think going to library times are great for the children and for the adults. You listen to new stories and ideas and you meet new people. I also think it helps children to do better in reading.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to take my boys to the library for story hour today, but one of them woke up with a nasty sounding cough. Decided not to share the germs. Maybe next week!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, I also go to the storytime with my 2 year old daughter, maybe we'll meet there once. Even if my daughter don't understand the story (she just speaks german - as we are from switzerland) she loves to sing and be with all the other kids.
