The Taste of Highlands Ranch

The Taste of Highlands Ranch is this Friday, May 2nd from 6-9pm at Eastridge.  This event is a lot of fun and it gives you a chance to try samples from many of our local restaurants.  Tickets are $25 per person in advance, and $30 at the door.  Attendees must be 21, and be sure to bring your ID.  There will be a silent auction with plenty of exciting items to bid on.  All silent auction proceeds will benefit Developmental Pathways.  See you there!

9Health Fair 2014

The Highlands Ranch 9Health Fair will be at Eastridge rec center on Saturday, April 26th from 7am - 12pm.  This event offers free medical screenings along with low cost screenings.  For more information and to register, visit their website.  The Highlands Ranch Lions Club will be collecting used glasses.

Highlands Ranch Mother's Day 5K!

 This year the Highlands Ranch Race Series is adding a new Race to celebrate all Moms!  The Highlands Ranch Mother's Day 5K will be on Saturday, May 10th at 9am.  The race will start and finish at Mountain Vista High School, 10585 Moutnain Vista Rdg.  

This is a new course, and it will have the best views of any Highlands Ranch 5K!

And plenty of room on the trail for a double stroller :)

After the race, Train OC will be hosting a free kids obstacle course.

This event is sure to be a lot of fun!

Highlands Ranch Easter Egg Hunt 2014

The Highlands Ranch Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 19th at Northridge Park.  It will start promptly at 10:00am.  Be sure to arrive early as the eggs are usually gone within minutes seconds.  This event is free for members; to register call 303-791-2500.  Limit of six eggs per child.  Bring your Easter basket and get ready to meet the Easter Bunny!

Highlands Ranch Home Expo

This weekend is the Home Improvement Expo at Eastridge.  If you are thinking of getting work done on your house, be sure to stop by.  The expo will be held from 9am - 5pm on Friday and Saturday, (April 11 &12) and on Sunday, April 13th from 9am - 2pm.  Over 50 vendors are expected.  If you are a "Do It Yourself" enthusiast, there will be some helpful seminars.  Check out the HRCA website for more information.  The Expo is free and open to the public.

Volunteer Fair

Tuesday, April 8th is the Highlands Ranch Volunteer Fair.  It will take place at Southridge rec center from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.  This is a fun event to learn about how you and your family can help out the local nonprofits.  It's great to get kids involved in outreach at a young age, and there are a bunch of opportunities for families to volunteer together!

Sweetheart Teddy Bear Tea

Saturday, February 15th from 10:30am - 12:00pm is the Sweetheart Teddy Bear Tea.  This event will take place at Southridge and is $15 per person (children must be accompanied by an adult).  What could be more fun than getting dressed up and bringing your favorite teddy bear to a tea party?  Some yummy tea time snacks will also be served.

Sweetheart Ball

The Highlands Ranch Father & Daughter Sweetheart Ball is this weekend!  At the Highlands Ranch Mansion on Friday, February 7th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm, & Saturday, February 8th from 1:30pm - 3:30pm & 6:30pm - 8:30pm.  Tickets in advance are $25 and $33 at the door.  Each little sweetheart will receive a corsage and a special gift.  Some of the event highlights include dancing, refreshments, and a commemorative photo.  What a cute way for Father's to spend time with their little Sweethearts!

Breakfast with Santa

What could be better than Pancakes and Santa?  If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, bring your children to have breakfast with Santa!  Saturday, December 14th is the annual event at Eastridge from 9am - 10:30am.  Pricing is $9 for kids and $11 for adults in advance, and $11 for everyone the day of (if not sold out).  Your child can do crafts, write a letter to Santa, and then hand deliver it.  Santa will be giving away a small gift to all children attending.  Be sure to bring your camera for some memorable pictures.

Teddy Bear Tea

The Holiday Teddy Bear Tea is Saturday, December 7th at Southridge.  Tea time will be 10:30am - 11:15am, and the showtime is 11:15am - 12:00pm.  Tickets are $11 in advance and $15 the day of the event.  You can register at any of the Rec Centers or by calling 303-471-8859.  Children (2 and older) must be accompanied by an adult.  Be sure to bring your favorite teddy bear!

Hometown Holiday

 

Friday, December 6th is the Highlands Ranch Hometown Holiday Celebration!  This free event will be at Town Center South.  Some of the festivities will include: caroling, live entertainment, food, and Reindeer.  The tree lighting will be at 5:00pm.  Your children will even have a chance to meet Santa!

Nutcracker Highlights

The International Youth Ballet is coming to Southridge rec center to perform the Nutcracker Highlights.  This family-friendly event will take place on Friday, November 29th from 7pm - 8pm and on Saturday, November 30th from 3pm - 4pm, and 7pm - 8pm.  Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 the day of - if not sold out.  For more information, check out the HRCA website.  I can't wait to take Ella when she's older :)

Highlands Ranch Days!

The Highlands Ranch Days are here!  September 5th through 7th from 9am - 2pm.  Ticket prices are $4 for adults and $2 for children.  Highlands Ranch Days will take place in the at the Highlands Ranch Mansion.  For more information including a map click here.  There will be fun and educational activities for children of all ages!  On Saturday there will be a pancake breakfast from 8am - 11am ($7 adults & $4 kids).  Parking is limited on Thursday and Friday.  Saturday there is no parking at the mansion but a free shuttle from Mountain Vista High School.  

Dive in Movie!

Saturday, August 3rd is the annual Highlands Ranch Dive in Movie!  This free event starts at 8:15pm, doors open at 7:30pm.  They will be showing the movie, The Lorax.  You can bring food and drinks.  The event will take place at Westridge Rec Center (outdoor pool) - weather permitting :)

House Decorating Contest

Each year we love driving around looking at the Christmas Lights.  The house decorating contest has been really fun because so many people go all out!  This year the HRCA has opened the voting to the public.  You can vote on their website.  Voting ends December 16th.  There is also a map on the HRCA website with the finalists, so if you want to see some of the most festive houses in town, check out the map.  Enjoy :)

Saturday, October 27th from 10am - 2pm, Eastridge rec center will be transformed into Trick-or-Treat Street.  The event is $1 per person.  Local businesses will be giving out candy.  They also have a pumpkin patch where your child can get a free pumpkin to take home! 

Fall Craft Show

This weekend is the Highlands Ranch Fall Craft show.  Located at Eastridge Rec center on October 6th and 7th, from 9am - 5pm.  This event is free and open to the public.  The show will have over 100 exhibitors with one of a kind crafts for sale.  This is a great place to go for unique gifts!  For more information, check out the HRCA website.
